The Tea Party & Republicans, is a merge inevitable?

WILMINGTON, Del. – The state Republican Party's fierce attacks on tea party-backed Christine O'Donnell offer Democrats plenty of ammunition in the U.S. Senate race after her shocking upset of a nine-term congressman and former Delaware governor.

Democrats watched for weeks as U.S. Rep. Mike Castle and O'Donnell pummeled each other in an ugly contest that didn't let up even in the final hours when her own party launched automated phone calls attacking her.

A woman who said she was Kristin Murray, O'Donnell's campaign manager in her 2008 unsuccessful Senate campaign, accused the candidate of "living on campaign donations — using them for rent and personal expenses, while leaving her workers unpaid and piling up thousands in debt." That followed earlier GOP claims that O'Donnell has lied about her education and has left a trail of unpaid bills that included tax liens and a default on her mortgage.

  • I too know lots of pubs (friends) embarrassed by the tea party. They are just a bunch of gun toting bigots who are clueless what they're doing... headed by the biggest dumbass of them all Sarah Palin!
News like this doesn't surprise me. She certainly gives republicans a bad name.

  • I hope they do merge and it appears that what has been said about Christine O'Donnell is not the truth.

All Muslims are NOT terrorists, so why are all Tea Party folks "BAD" people?

  • I'll be honest, I haven't been following Delaware.  I'm working harder on repealling any/all aspects of ObamaCare than I am concerned with Delaware...  Have these allegations against her been confirmed?  Or is this just political mud slinging to discredit her and force her to spend her campaign money to clear herself?

    Also,

SWEET-A-KINS~as piss poor as your spelling?

Sweet, did YOU just judge someone else's spelling?  Keeping the hypocritical/judgemental sweet real, I see.... ;o)

  • Sweet, is your question about whether the groups will merge or about O'Donnell?

It is a vague question... No direction. No focus... It's a crap shoot... Anyone's guess... But at least we can always count on sweet's motive... ;o)

Ask yourself why she won? That is something you need to educate yourselves about. This woman is nuts.and a scam artist. REALLY.
The Republicans I know are nice, normal, honest, hardworking and accepting people without prejudice and bigotry. THIS woman doesn't represent the Republicans who I know.

  • Do they NEED each other for survival?

If it means selling out just to beat over-spending nonny loving big government liberals with big spending Republicans, NO....  It just means America needs more time to wake up and stop letting career politicians dictate the direction of this nation.

  • I hope not. I know a lot of Republicans here in my home state who are embarassed by the Tea Party people and this woman who just won sounds like a scam artist and a nutcase. How can people who lie about their education and owe tons of money think they can receive support from the average, honest, hardworking Republicans in our country.??? Its just not good if she is allied with Tea Party philosophy

  • Sweet, is your question about whether the groups will merge or about O'Donnell?

merge? I don't think it will be a merge, it will either be a reakening or the beginnings of a new party imo.

O'Donnell? I can't comment on any accussations about her. I just don't know much about her.

I do find it interesting that the GOP is refusing funding to the voter elected candidate..that won't bode well for donations from tea party members to the GOP.
