When my hubby and file taxes we get back $1,000 every year per child tax credit. Is that the same everywhere in the US? So does that mean they get that per kid thats under 18?

It's called the Earned Income Credit and it is on the federal income taxes, so everyone can get it. It is part of Obama's stimulus package. You have to make less than $48,279 (how did they come up with that number?) plus $5000 if filing joint with 3 kids or more. After 3 kids you get the same amount. There is a table (chart). For 2009 with 3 kids or more you would get $5657 with 3 or more kids. I've been told the Duggars are rich, I don't watch the show, so they wouldn't get the EIC.
