Alternitives to milk???

OK, my kiddo is just over ten months old, she has NEVER had a drop of formula, I've worked very hard to make this happen (am still b.feeding) ....after the year mark of b.feeding I am thinking of slowing it down drastically so I can work again but don't want to give her cow's milk, I hear soy can be harmful if too excessive, and rice isn't all that nutritious. I hear there are recipes to make a nutritious milk-like beverage with olive oil for the fat content etc. Anyone have one of these recipes, or suggestions?

  • Idk but if you were still going to nurse a few times a day maybe organic whole cows milk. My girlfriend drinks it because other milk really upsets her tummy. Good luck mama!

  • Um....I'm looking for 'alternatives' to milk.

My reasons are genetic, Native American, lactose intolerance, etc. I want her to have a healthy beverage like MY milk, not like that of a cows, or corn starch and high fructose bla bla bla...

  • hemp milk and rice mlk, my son drinks them both, also remember that nursing 3 times a day is enough to have no ther milk, I just hate my son drinking so much juice while I work so he gets 4 oz of rice or hemp milk. If you get rice milk it has to be the fortified kind, its lower in fat so add extra fat to her diet like avacados.
