  • Pacifiers before you are established, any supplementing, not nursing enough.

  • Birth control pills KILLED my supply (though as I understand it, doesn't do it to everyone). Mine dropped from 20+ oz while at work, to a few days later I had a hard time getting 4oz. That was at about 7 months, I ended up taking medication to help the supply to get us through to her birthday. At that point we dropped the pumping and continued evenings and mornings.

  • estrogen birth control pills are a BIG supply killer!!! another pregnancy can kill supply. pacifiers, bottles, supplementing, and not nursing enough (as already mentioned) are also supply killers/hinderences.

  • i've never had an issue, but are you asking because you think your supply is decreased? why do you think it has decreased? how old is your baby? how many diapers are you changing per day?

  • My supply has not decreased, but my pumping ability has. Not really a big deal but I would like to wean my dd to a cup by her 1st birthday.

  • Pumping is nothing like baby directly nursing. What you pump is not a good indicator of what you make.

  • My period! Everytime I got it my supply would drop in half...
I pumped for work and I would go from pumping 12 oz at work to getting 4-6 oz for a week... it totally stressed me out!

  • Over the counter cold meds can dry you up,birth control pills, certain vitamins and herbs. Your pumping supply or amount usully eventully tapers off some and evens itself out after the first 6 months or so.
