What's the best method for treating a cough in an infant?

My 8 month old has a cough (it started with the 2 year old) and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to give her some relief. My pedi recommended turning the shower on and sitting with her in the steamy bathroom. Just wondering what else might work.

  • what your ped said is great!
you may want to get a humidifier before winter kicks in, that can help with colds.

  • Another thing, if you can elevate one end of the crib so she isn't laying flat on her back, it helps them sleep a little better. Still not as good as when they aren't sick, but better.
