I am hating how long the adoption finalization is taking!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else had it seem like it took FOREVER after they did the homestudy to approve it?? The child is already in our home and has been for 7 months, and the adoption h.s. was done over a month ago.... Ugh.... Losing my patience.... LOL

  • Look at it this way, at least you have your child to wait with! That beats the "waiting to be picked" period! We were lucky, we had our court date shortly after we finished the 6 month supervisory period. We finalized when our son was 7 1/2 months old (he was placed with us when he was 5 days old).

  • Oh, I am super grateful that she is here with us!!! I just thought that they would be ready for the finalization at the end of the 6 month mark, not waiting till then to do the h.s. .... At least the next time we do this, we will know what to expect more than we did this time!!! :D

  • Yes it is long - but what a great day when it arrives. Have you thought about a small celebration after the fihalization? Planning this will make it feel like you're doing something

  • Well right now we are trying to plan her birthday and Christmas, so we don't know what we are going to do for a celebration (we ARE going to have one though)..... :)
