How much time do you volunteer during the school year?

  • A lot. I even do this why working as a teacher. I bring in snacks, help teachers out, etc.

  • At least 40 hours. That is the requirement for our son's school. Next year it will be 60 hours because we will have two kids in the school then.

  • I am fortunate to get to go on field trips and help in other ways. I haven't really kept track of the time.

  • I let the teacher know I am available each month and if they choose to ask for help then I go. As my son is getting older they don't ask for help anymore.

  • I have never added it up. I don't volunteer as much now as I did when my son was younger, but I do offer to help at parties, field trips, fundraisers, picture day, banquets, etc.

  • I go on the occassional field trip, bake cookies, etc.

  • I volunteer once a week, all year. The time depends on what the teacher needs me to do. Sometimes, I stay an hour or more. Sometimes, I stay 20 minutes.
