Should I make a dr appointment or am I being over protective and too sensitive?

My 9 year old son says he's stressed out all the time and there's too much pressure on him. He has also made the comment that he doesn't fit in. He's very intelligent and mature for his age but I've recently seen a drop in his grades, the teacher says she thinks he uninterested and being a typical slacker.

  • Sounds like he needs a "safe" place to vent. Seeing someone about his problems will probably help him to gain the tools he needs to deal with everything he is going though.

  • There are many types of therapy, I would make an appointment and try and be creative about giving him a better attitude. Sports, clubs, hobbies, etc...could all help. Being overprotective is a good thing, it makes you proactive!!
