  • an 18 mo old can understand helping put away toys. thats technically a chore, so i guess its about 18 months when you could start giving them things to do. its teaching them responsibility and to be helpful. just start off slow and simple.

  • My son is two and he's responsible for his room, throwing away his trash, picking up his toys, "wiping" up the water in the bathroom when he brushes his teeth, putting his dishes in the sink, and helping put away the dog's toys, and pouring the cat's food into the bowl (its all pre-portioned for him). Oh, and putting his laundry in the hamper.

  • i'm with the 18 month. simple commands work then. as they get older, the chores get more advanced.
