How to ditract yourself from panic or anxeity attacks ?

  • Well, I usually will breath into a paper bag and that helps. I will also try taking a hot bath and make myself some herbal tea. I am looking for other types of methods. I live in an apt. and most of my attacks are at night so it has to be quiet things. I can't focus on tv or books. I do meditate but become unfocused through those too.

  • Eliminate caffeine, that makes a huge difference. But once an attack is coming on, use breathing techniques which your DR can give you, breathe into a paper bag. Controlling the breathing is always the first and foremost for me, then meds if you have been perscibed them and have not taken your dosage. Also try to change thoughts which may be contributing to worry/fear, counseling can give you ideas about this

  • Yup. I do take xanax also, I then have a waiting game for them because I hate taking a full one. LOL

  • i actually pray. sometimes get fresh air. music really helps. a shower also ewashes it away.
