would you rather have old-fashion values or modern family values?

I may be 24..but I'm old-fashioned at heart. I'm not down with a lot of this modern family stuff.

  • I am definitely old fashioned. I always say that I was born in the wrong decade.

  • Old fashion values. Look where modern values have gotten the world

  • Old fashioned - to a point. Im nobody's maid/cook/laundress/sex slave!! I do them but I make sure that everyone else in the house helps out!

  • Can I cherry pick my preferences?

Old family values involved disinheriting children who were 'the wrong type'... as was beating them to death when they behaved badly too persistently. Old family values involved shunning family members as if they were dead if they married the 'wrong' person, or had a baby in the 'wrong' way... I think we're better off with a more respectful, more accepting expectation than that.

I do wish there was more respect or understanding of what 'til death do us part' means --coupled with more respect and a more accepting approach --which I think would make for happier, more respectful marriages and diminish divorces as well as unwanted children. But I appreciate the modern expectations that children are 'okay' even if they're damaged or handicapped in some way. And being allowed to marry any adult qualified to marry seems... obvious and sensible to me.

  • Well Im old fashioned, but with limits. And I think it really depends on how you were raised with the old fashion values. So really Im more of a FAMILY VALUES kind of gal. Much to the inlaws dislike which ARE very old fashioned.

  • Old fashioned, for sure. Modern values aren't really "values" in my opinion.

  • Old fashioned. I think the world has gotten too far away from any kind of values let along old fashioned ones.
