7 and half months daughter is getting up twice at night

My 7 and half months daughter used to sleep around 9pm and up around 5 to eat. recently she is getting up twice at night, is she not having enough milk? She is having 5 oz formula, and feeding her 2 scoop of rice cereal around 7-8. One baby food #2 during day time around noon. Should I increase her milk? or adding anything else?

  • Stuffing her won't make her sleep. Her body and her brain aren't ready for it. Eventually, she will do it. Babies are hardwired to wake up.

  • She may be having a growth spurt and need more food. All you can do is try offering her more formula, you cant force her to eat. They know their little bodies and she will eat if she is hungry. As for not being "ready" to sleep the twins have been sleeping through the night since they were 2 and a half months old. Some babies do and some don't.

  • My first son slept WONDERFUL from day one untill he was about 8 months..They he was up 2 and 3 times a night. Just a switch in her schedule. It may last awhile and change again. Hopefully. Lol.

    Good Luck!

  • The VAST majority of babies wake every 3-4 hours on average for needed feeds and/or peeing. They wake more during growth spurts, teething, and new milestones. In the first year, sleep patterns change a lot and a baby may sleep a long stretch one week during a growth spurt and the next wake frequently. All normal. Sleep patterns don't really settle into a more mature pattern until age three or four. Some babies sleep a lot in the first half of the year, but end up waking more later. There is nothing "bad" about a baby that doesn't sleep long stretches of more than four to six hours...they aren't bad sleepers as some say. They are quite normal. It's actually we adults who have forgotten how to sleep effectively because we clock watch. night parenting is part of the mommy gig.. FYI 5 hours is considered a "sleep through" . Bathing before bed and lotions can stimulate babies not relax. be sure bed time isn't too early.

  • Only twice? Lucky!

    She's normal.

  • That's normal. She might just be hungry. Babies are constantly growing, and with that comes hunger, growing pains, nightmares, etc. Just relax, it will pass in time. Then you'll miss when she was a baby. :)
