1st Birthday Party Food Ideas

We are having the party at a park. So we need something that will keep outside and that is easily transferable. Also something vegetarian.

  • A favorite snack idea is roasted Cheerios. Take 1/4 stick butter, melt in pan, add about 1 1/2 cups of Cheerios, sprinkle with *(salt, garlic salt, seasoned salt, herbs, cinnamon & sugar... whatever you like!), and blend. Cook, stirring regularly, until toasted. Pour into a bowl to cool. Then transfer to ziplock snack baggies; individual portions for everyone! You can also do a fruit salad; just chop up melons and berries and mix. What about a meatless chili in a crockpot? Make it ahead of time, and then just carry to set on the table, and serve with store bought breadsticks. Enjoy!!!

  • Just have pizzas delivered to the park for the time you want to eat. You can also accomodate any meat eaters this way too if needed - just order a pepperoni pizza along with your veggie ones.

  • If they have a BBQ at the park, I would grill some hamburgers or hotdogs. You can bring some chili in a crock pot. Chips and dip and cake and ice cream. For the vegetarians, I would do a veggie platter with dip and some of those soy burgers. They are yummy!
