Do you feel you know more about Lady Gaga than our political process?

The amount of insignificant information we know about "celebrities" versus how much we know about our own government is truly sad. I wish more Americans would make it their business to be more "in the know" about how our country is run. Just sayin'

  • Well technically no because I don't actually watch or listen to any news that I hear about celebs at all let alone, Lady Gaga specifically. But I do agree that far too much time and resources are wasted on following the insignificant and trivial matters of celebrities lives. There should be more focus on politics and current events but that's exactly what the news channels are doing is distracting us with all the Hollywood crap so we are not as informed and don't pay attention to the stuff that's actually going on behind all of this smoke and mirror charade.

  • Agreed... I actually had to google Lady Gaga last week. LOL Justin Bieber too... had no clue.

  • No. I don't, but I'm an odd duck I spend too much time following politics to have anything left for celebrities.

  • Not hardly. All I know is she is a nut. I know much more about politics.

  • I agree. I don't have cable so I don't know who a lot of these "celebrities" are nowadays. I think I heard my first Lady Gaga song a few months ago. I've never heard any of the Jersey Shore people even speak.

  • This made me LOL. I don't think I do... but I'm a political science major and don't follow trending music. It probably sums up most of America though!

  • Lady Gaga? Ugh.
I try to read as much as I can about politics and political figures.

Answer by gertie41 at 11:25 PM on Sep. 16, 2010

  • No. I don't know anything about either one. But I know what you mean about there being pointless news about celebrities everyday, I just never pay any attention to it.

  • She is certainly more popular than politics...
