what is the difference between the different kinds of formula?

Can you use different kinds of formula or does the baby need to stay on one brand?

  • No, you shouldn't use different kinds. Babies' stomaches are very weak and if you do need to switch formulas for any reason, you need to do it gradually, not cold turkey. Each company makes them different, although all of them are pretty much good for your baby because they have to pass specific standards.

  • I agree, but there is little difference between generic (like the Cosco brand) and Enfamil or Similac. The price is significantly different too. Just check the label, but stick to one as long as your child does not have a reaction to it.

  • Thanks for the answer. That helps a lot. I was wondering if each one had something different in it or just the name was different so this helps a lot. The Enfamil is more expensive but that is what they started him on. So we better stick with that. Thanks again
