How long does you washer take to do one load?

We have our own washer, but our landlady left her HE takes 2 1/2 HOURS to do ONE load of clothes! I put it in at 11:30 this morning, and at 1:55, it was STILL on the spin cycle! Is this normal for HE? Our own washes within 20-45 minutes (depending on load size and cycle type).

  • Try changing the wash setting. I have a front loader HE and the setting I use takes 45 minutes. It's "normal wash", "medium or regular" time (as opposed to "quick" or "heavy duty" or "soak for stains" or "delicate") with a "regular rinse" cycle (not "rinse twice").

  • On normal cycle less than/about 30 minutes. There's a "quick wash" cycle that takes maybe 15-20 minutes and a "extra soak" cycle that takes about 45 minutes. Thats just to wash though, drying obviously takes more time.

  • Mine is HE. Depends on the kind of load I run, anywhere from 38ish for the quick wash, 54 for color. Those are the two I typically run. I know the heavy duty is longer.

  • I usually have it on Normal wash, regular rinse, high spin cycle speed, but I put it on Eco Heavy Duty since I had quite a few heavy jeans in there this time.

  • On average about 40 minutes- totally depends on the settings.
