Is 8 miles far to you to drive your child to preschool?

Deciding if the ride will be a hassle in rush hour traffic.

  • Depends. If you think it is the right school for your child, then no, 8 miles isn't too far. If you have other ones that are closer and just as good, then why not go with a closer one? Preschool is not a neccessity.

  • Depends on why you chose that preschool. I don't think it's too far but if there were one closer that I was just as comfortable/satisfied with I'd go with the closer one just so I didn't have to go out of my way everyday and could be closer if I needed to get to her quickly.

  • Depends on your area. For me that is ideal. For you it may be different.

  • Yes, I think so. I ended up picking a school that is so close I could walk to it if I had to. I'm glad now too. My Son just started this week and by the time he gets up, eats and dresses (you know how long it takes to prepare a toddler to go out), I just make it., It would be way too stressful to then sit in traffic. That's my opinion.

  • I drive 30 miles one way to work, so 8 miles is nothing to me

  • I drive 6 miles out my way to take my child to preschool. Including drop off it takes me about an extra half an hour.

I am willing to give up that hour (round trip) because i think i've found the best education possible for my child. If i didn't love his school so much i probably wouldn't do it.
