33 Bumps

BUMP if you are in favor of plus-size models on the runway.

Let's hear it for curves!
OneStopPlus.com celebrated a variety of shapes by producing the first-ever plus-size-only runway show during New York Fashion Week Spring 2011. Designers sent 36 spring trend looks down the runway, from lace and denim pieces to draped dresses. Actresses such as Nikki Blonsky, Gabourey Sidibe and KayCee Stroh joined plus-size icon Emme in the audience.

  • Yeah- finally we get to see more than moo-moo dresses for the plus size girls! I say we're not fat- but voluptuous (sp?)

  • Depends on what we are thinking of as "plus sized" I'm all for girls with healthy curves, but I don't want a bunch of clearly fat girls either...

  • I love the idea. It irks me that a 14 is considered too fat to be pretty enough for fashion.

  • I really like the thought! I'm all for healthy models, but I don't want to promote obesity either. I think some of those girls aren't the poster of health either. I wish the healthy median was more clear.

  • I think it's a good idea. Not everyone is bone thin.

    I'm not fat, I'm fluffy!

  • YES! But I wish people in the fashion industry would stop refering to them as plus size. The term makes them sound like they are fat. Most of them are in the NORMAL weight range for their height and a million miles away from bing overweight.
