  • Unless you have a direct family history of breast cancer, or are otherwise considered high risk, then I think in your 20's and 30's you should just do monthly self exams, and if you THINK you feel something then have a mammogram. I only had my first baseline mammogram 2 years ago at age 40, with no history of breast cancer in my family and becoming menopausal at age 37 (due to surgery), my results came back so clear for the past two years, that they didn't even know how to grade my mammogram except to give it a rating score of "1" (the best score)

  • My ob-gyns always does a breast exam during my annual physical, so I'm sure it's probably a pretty common thing with all ob-gyns. But as far as having a mammogram? If you have a history of breast cancer in your family, most definitely. Otherwise, I don't think it *needs* be done, but it can be if the person wants to.

  • I think so. It's better to be careful. I'm a veteran and they make us get one once a year with our female wellness check. It only takes a minute, so why not?

  • The past two years, I've had a HALO test done. It can detect the beginnings of breast cancer years before a mammogram could, even before a lump forms. It takes five minutes, and I do it in my doctor's office at my annual exam.. Here's their website: http://www.neomatrix.com/
