What month can a baby start eating meat?

  • They make stage 1 baby meat. Stage 1 is for 4 months and up..I know the American Academy of Pediatrics says meat is fine after 6 months.

  • I would say that it is a great question for your child's pediatrician. However, I heard that you aren't supposed to introduce meat to your child until he or she is 12 months or older. I am not sure why. Please be sure and double check on the answer with your pediatrician at your child's next appointment. I definitely wouldn't do meat until the child is at least 12 months or until I checked with the pediatrician.

  • Why in the world do they make baby food with Chicken and other meats in it then lol I bought some baby food that was called Chicken Noodle Dinner not thinking about it. Then I thought "Hey can she eat meat yet" She is 7 Months Old.

  • If the child is breastfed, the American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends that children start eating pureed meat at 8 or 9 months because they need the extra protein. Honestly though, you can do it earlier too if you choose. My son started eating pureed meat before 6 months, but back then they recommended solids as early as 4 months, and now it's more like 6 months.

  • i think your pedi will tell you when its right for yor son every one is diferent did he go trought the veggies adn fruits already?

  • Ask your pediatrician, it was recommended for my dd at 6 months.
