3 Bumps

i took his bed away.

My son refuses to listen to me. And being a single mom of 3 i have to go to extreams when punishing my kids or i get no where. I dont like to spank them unless its REALLY needed or if they do something that would hurt them, so i take toys, have them scrub walls, i unplug the tv, ect. Doesnt sound 'that' bad but they are 4 & 2. So today my 4yr old threw himself on his bed and screamed so loud that someone called the police on me thinking i was beating him... All because i asked him to clean his room! So, i took his bed. Its a NASCAR Race Car bed, he loves it. I did leave his mattress.

Was this going to far? I think i made my point though. He sure cleaned up very quickly after that, im nit ready to give it back to him yet. Is a week without it to long?

  • Sounds good to me, if you think he could work for a sticker chart that might help. He gets one sticker everytime he cleans up his room or when his does something you ask. When he gets say 5 stickers he can have his bed back. Then after that maybe he can earn stickers for special things, like a new toy, or a trip to a favorite park etc. Good luck.

  • Having a police officer come to my door for his meltdown is pretty embarrassing.
He screams this high pitch horrible ear piercing scream. Makes your brain rattle!
