Food for a group?

My friend and I are throwing another friend a b-day party... there will probably be about 15-20 people TOPS. We want to do it as easy as we can...thinking I'll bring a couple of trays of food, we'll have salad, bread, cake and cookies, snacks before hand... Just need some ideas on what kind of trays of food I should make?

  • I always bring bruscetta to a cocktail party. Get some nice crusty bread, slice it, brush it with some olive oil and rub a clove of garlic over it, then top it however you want. I do pancetta sometimes, roasted red peppers, different cheeses...then stick them under the broiler for just a couple of minutes to toast up the bread, get the cheeses melty...
Oh, and I think it's called Brie en crute, get some brie, wrap it in puff pastry, bake it at 350 until the pastry is golden, serve immediately with crackers and apple slices.
