  • Bosses tend to favor those that have same morals and upbringing. It also doesn't hurt to work 110%; but personally I think, now that I am older, to put in a full day and don't be in running motion to achieve it.

  • Because they are human beings and there are just some people that have clicking personalities and some who don't. It doesn't mean that they don't think you do your job well. It just means they have something in common with the other employees and like to talk to them more or thank them more. As long as you know that you are doing the best job you can do, don't sweat it. You don't need someone else to pump you up and feel good, make yourself feel good about your accomplishments. It's unfortunate but lots of bosses don't have the professionalism to remain neutral at work and treat everyone the same. But they are human beings too and we all have our faults.

  • Because they favor their friends. It's unfair but it does happen. It happened at the last office I worked at.
