Moms with Gestational Diabetes.....

What have they told you is the level that you should aim to keep your sugars?

I was told that the goal at my Doctors office is 130-135. Since I failed my test, I have been taking mine at home and I wanted to find out what they told you was your goal level.

  • I was told to be under 100. Just be careful after you give birth though and check sugars occasionally. Right after I delivered my son, I was fine but 2 years later I am Type 2.

  • I had it towards the end but i was told my weight was okay so i did not have to check my sugars... I will ask my mom tho she had to take insulin - she said no higher then 120 to 140 - 140 would be the absolute cap

  • Normal glucose levels are 80 - 90ish when fasting and 120ish about 1 hour after eating. that is for a NON Diabetic. All Diabetics strive to get as close to normal as possible.

  • I don't know if it is just different everywhere or what because mine was One Fourty Eight last week when I took my GD test....that was a fail because they want it no higher than 135. She told me that as long as I keep it around 135 to 1fourty then it would be okay. I am so confused. I go back to the Dr. next week to talk to her more and see the nutritionist.
