backache after delivery

I had a baby about a week and a half ago and I'm having more back pain then I've ever had, I didn't even have back pain in my pregnancy but now after having my baby I'm experiencing excruciating back pain, has this happened to anyone? What could it be?

  • Did you take time to rest after delivery? Get as much rest as possible.

  • IMO, it could be many things. It could be from bleeding(postpartum bleeding), sciatica nerve, sleeping the wrong way, pulled muscle, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, or something even more serious. I think only a Doctor can help you since it is excruciating pain for you. Have you taken pain relievers and does it help?

  • I've taken the pain medication I got from my doctor, I had a c-section and have hardly any bleeding, I have other children so its a little hard to get the proper rest.

  • C-section plus epidural = back pain.

Are you also nursing? A lot of nursing moms also get a back ache between their shoulder blades.
