  • some friends don't show and some are just a good idea anyway. I had one with my first and i will have one with my second... no reason to go through so much pain if you dont have too

  • Yup, and the majority of people i know have gotten one, along with his friends and would gladly do it

  • I never had a cath with mine. Nor did I get any extra stuff. They gave me the epidural after I had been there for hours, and it was just the epidural. They gave me nothing else with it.

  • Yeah, and??? It jacks up the bill, but I like to have extra monitoring, fluids so I don't dehydrate, and something to drain out the urine from the fluids since I cannot feel the urge. I'm glad they are protecting my life and my baby's life should something go wrong. It's a risk some of us are willing to take. It's not like I didn't inform myself BEFORE I had an epidural inserted.

  • I have had TWO epidurals, and the ONLY thing off your list that I had was continuous monitoring, which I had HOURS before the epidural...

So either I have some magical hospital where they don't need all those other things and every other hospital does - or your argument just went right out the window!

  • I was on all of that BEFORE I decided to get the epidural.
