Purple food

I volunteered for Purple Day snacks at DD's school, now I'm trying to figure out something interesting to bring. I'm stuck on grapes, jell-o, raisins, and grape juice. We've also talked about cactus pear, but they aren't really in season right now. Can anybody else think of some foods that are a little more interesting.

  • I like butterfly1108's idea unless you want something healthy.

  • Make jello cupcakes using white cake mix and grape jello. Then top it with purple decorations or color white frosting. If your school only wants nutritious foods, the fruits you mentioned will work.

  • Thanks for all the great ideas! The teacher isn't extremely picky about the snacks being healthy, but it is their morning break at 8:45, so I would prefer to give healthier foods. Maybe I can make some purple fruit leather, too.....hmmm.... So many ideas, thanks again!

  • You could make a plain muffin (I have a recipe that I just tried today that's really yummy) and color them purple (pm me if you're interested in the recipe). There are also purple bell peppers - my 3 & 5 yo were eating strips of one at 7:30am last week ;o).
