The last few parties we have gone to the birthday child took the gifts home to open their. We didn't get to see the child's reaction to the gist or anything! I hate that. I am told it's so the kids have 1 full hour to play and then 1 full hour for food and games in the party room. I mean it really sucks to not get to see the kid open the present you took all the time to pick out. :0( Anyone else feel this way or am I the odd one out.

Haven't been to any parties like that... But I can understand what your saying that would be disappointing! I love little kids reactions to their gifts!

I haven't had that happen yet but can understand I know at my nieces party they were really rushing the kids just to get them out of the party room

I've not been to such a party, but yeah that's kind of stupid. I love having my DD open her gifts in front of those who brought them. She can express excitement and thanks right in front of the gift giver then. PLUS- that is one of the fun parts of the birthday party for the child imo.
