  • my daughter was about 10 months and my son was right around a year. But both my children were breastfed. My daughter weaned herself at 10 months and went straight from breast to the sippy. I didn't see the point in introducing the bottle at that age. And my son also went from breast to sippy but he didn't wean until about 14 or 15 months but we started introducing the sippy at a year. But they're dr had told me from early on, if they do a bottle, please dont let them have it much after a year. So we stuck with that, but each dr. has different views on this.

  • I started sippy cups with all of mine around 6 months. By 9-10 months they were pretty good at it, made it much easier to wean at a year since they already knew how to use the sippy.

  • I started giving the sippy cup to my son at 6 months during meals but he still got his bottle. At a year he was off the bottle.

  • I gave him a tiny bit of water in one with solids at 5 months. He switched to a straw cup at 8 months. Off the bottle at 12.
