Did your ob guess the baby's correct weight by using your fundal height?

I'm 39 weeks 4 days pregnant. I'm measuring small by a couple weeks. My ob says he guesses the baby's weight is about 6 to 6 1/2 lbs. I was just wondering if any of your ob/gyns have ever guessed or been close to your babies actual birth weight.

  • They were dead on with my second. They didn't try to guess with my first or third. Only the second due to complications. :)

  • Nope. With both of my children, they told me I hadn't gained enough weight and the babies were going to be small (5-6 pounds). Both of my kids arrived at 41+ weeks at 8 lbs, 7 oz for my son, and 8 lbs, 9 oz for my daughter!!
