Measurng big=Big baby?

At my 33 week DA I was measuring 38 weeks, Would that mean I may have a big baby? With my other two I only measured 2 weeks ahead and not 5. I had a ultrasound at 31 weeks and he was already 3 lbs, and 15 oz. Just incase this helps my dd was 8 lbs, 4 oz at 39W6D, and DS was 7 lbs, 7 oz at 39W3D.

  • that doesn't mean anything I was measuring small and the u/s said my dd was going to be 9.5lbs when she was born but she only weighed 7 lbs 11.8oz. the u/s is just an est. and your stomach has nothing to do with it

  • my daughter measured big and she came at 36wk6d and she was 6lbs 3 oz. so maybe maybe not but you should ask just in case.

  • it depends on the doctor doing the measuring IMO. My son measured big the whole pregnancy so at 32 weeks they started talking about a c section(I was measuring 5 weeks bigger) so I asked another doctor to measure...after a "contest" to see who was right...3 doctors measured me and they ALL got different answers. My son was born at 39weeks 8 lbs 14 oz. They told me he was going to be OVER 10.5 lbs.

  • Thank you everyone. I am just worried because I don't want to be induced early. But right now I am just grateful that he is 100% healthy and perfect

  • I am at 34 weeks and I am measuring 36 weeks and the baby is over 7lbs as of Thursday. Due date is Oct. 30th. I also have a lot of amniotic fluid so far. My first two were big babies, 1st came at 40 weeks and was 10.5lbs. and 2nd came at 38 weeks at 8.5lbs. With the first two I had like a gallon of amniotic fluid and looking like I will this time as well.

It sounds like they miscalculated your date to be so far off on measurements. Normal is maybe one to two weeks off on measurements.
