my ob says i gained too much weight this month........

he says use a low carb diet..... what do you eat for low carbs because everything i usually eat apparently has alot. i know not too much pasta or breads but what are some good alternatives?

  • Wasa makes some great crackers that are perfect on low carb diets. Remember to consider 'net carbs'. If a cracker has 12 grams of carbs but has 5 grms of fiber subtract the fiber from total carbs...that is your net. Raspberries, blackberries and avocado are all great low carb options. Avoid 'white' foods processed sugar, processed flour, processed rice, potatoes. If you are really, really craving pasta see if you can find Dreamfields.

  • eggs (egg whites) - mozzerella cheese - fruits - veggies - chicken - turkey - steak - fish - pork
    these are basically some of the only things i eat wether im pregnant or not, just so that i stay skinny.
    also, when and if you must eat carbs - eat whole grain & whole wheat things & brown rice instead of white rice.
    cut out sodas & juice. juice has so many carbs. if your going to drink juice, drink all natural fruit juice like apple and orange juice.
    you can also google low carb recipies.

  • oh & BTW you have to just read labels... for example, if your going to eat a salad, read the lables on the dressing you choose to buy. italian used to be my favorite, but it has lots of carbs. ceaser has none or very little carbs.
