Do you buy everyone in your family Christmas presents?

By this I mean parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, friends, etc. It seems like there is huge pressure to do so even if you can't afford it.

  • We spend Christmas day at the inlaws. So DH and I buy for each other, our two kids, then also his step-brother/sister, his brother (and his fiance'), and his mom and Step-Dad.

Then my family (Parents and three sisters/Their families) take names. This year DH and I have my parents. We have a 100 dollar limit. We can buy 100 dollar gift for the couple or spend 50 on each. Then we buy for the kids (which are my two and my sister's daughter) and usually that's just the parents who buy for them. But anyone who wants to buy for a kid can. When they get older they'll choose names for each other as well.

  • I start with my husband and children first. Then if I have enough $, I will get something for the rest of the family (little ones first- then working my way up).
