When you give a thumbs up does the person you give it to get point? Same with thumbs down?

  • when your answer is voted up, you get 3 credits.
    when YOU vote an answer up, you get 2, but you have a daily limit on how many credited-VUs you can give. you are unlimited on giving VUs, but your credits are.

  • and i don't think anything happens when you get a VD, or give one. however, you are limited on how many VDs you can give daily, as well.

  • Yes, they get three points for a vote up. They used to loose points for a vote down, but CM changed that because of the vote downs were just because of differing opinions and were being misused.

  • There are no points given for a vote down but points are taken away from anonymous answers that are voted down.
