How much did it cost you to deliver your child?

And where did you deliver? I just got new health insurance. My first cost me $100, my second cost me $100 and if I have another it will cost me at least $2000 if I deliver in a hospital, with no complications. complications will cost me more.

  • With my first we had her at at birth center. It costed us $3800. Insurance would not cover anything. Our second at a hospital and we paid $4200. This time we are having a home birth and it is $400. All of them include all prenatal visites, labor, birth, and the next 6 weeks of care you need.

  • My insurance covered everything - except my sons $300 circumcision. (That I didn't even want!) Medical insurance usually covers everything...

  • wow all you ladies are lucky. Even with insurence we still owed several thousand after each child. The last babe was the highest, I belive its still around 8,000. OUr insurence wouldnt cover the costs of NICU's that all 3 kids had to stay in.

  • Well, my daughter's bill was just over $126,000 (she was 3 months premature and she had to stay in the NICU for 6 weeks); my bill was around $38,000. Our insurance covered it all.

  • No, medical onsurance does not usually cover everything. My employer now provides a high-deductable plan.... and there is alot that isn't covered. It would be covered in full only AFTER I meet my family deductable for the year..... which is $2000.
