  • It isn't DYE people - the red is actually animal juices - you know - BLOOD. And if blood sits for a while in air it goes from red to brown.

  • If it doesn't smell bad - if it actually smells like ground beef when it is red - that just means it has oxidized and isn't bad, just not red anymore.

  • when it browns like that it is just the dye and yes I have before and no there was no side effect

    The dye all goes out of it and it doesn't smell like it's rotting, its in the pan.
