How do I get an old musky animal smell out of my house?

It must b the carpets from when we had our dog inside. But we have shampooed the carpets twice and it wont go away... what else can I do?

  • If you think it's the carpets, can you rip them up and put inexpensive laminate floor down? If you can't, then sprinkle with baking soda and vacuum often. Maybe even spray Lysol on spots you can definately identify as the culprit.

  • Get rid of the carpet. It's in the pad.

  • As the others have said - if you own the home - rip out the carpet. Also, wash the walls and ceilings. I would even take everything out of the closets and cabinets to ensure nothing is emanating from there.
