Best way to ink or paint paper black?

I have cardboard cut out of halloween items and also a thick almost like cardboard but not that thick. I need to paint them all black cause they are all brown. Whats the best and cheapest way to go about doing it.

  • I would just get a can of spray paint. It'll cost you somewhere between 2 and 7 bucks depending on what type of paint you buy but it's fairly cheap and it's quick and easy aplication because you just do a few quick light swipes and it's covered. If you didn't get it enough on the first attempt do a second or third coat if you really need to. Just don't spray it on too heavy because the paper will get weak if it's wet and you may end up getting it soggy and ruining your project. Light application done in several coats is better than 1 thick application at 1 time.

  • That depends on how long you want to keep them. Poster paint will work, but it flakes, so if the items are "keepers," don't do that. Instead, use black spray paint.
