  • I'm with DrDonna on the venison - anything I make with deer meat takes a LONG time if you factor in DH shooting, hanging, and processing ;o).

Nah, really, my potato soup or spaghetti sauce - to make it *right* I have to take 2 days - 1 to prep, 1 to cook - we're talking 4+ hours each day, too much for me to do all in one day to have it that evening.

  • I would say making a turkey (not the most difficult, but by far the most time consuming).

  • Venison stew - especially if one considers that in order to make it, my husband shoots the deer, butchers it and then I get to braise the meat! (prep & cook time for the stew without the harvest time is about 4.5 hours).

  • Do you mean time consuming as in how long it took to actually cook, or do you mean how long it took to prep?

  • I meant my question to include both prep & cook time. Sorry I was not clearer.

  • I have to agree with baboluchi56 about the turkey. That and chicken cordon bleu.
