I asked a question about Whether or not people who could afford alcohol & Ciggarettes should be eligiable for wlfare assistance.. and an answer gave me an idea.. I want to pass something that requires anyone on any benefits to be frequently drug tested, and anyone who fails should be uneligable for assistance for at least a year. I think it sounds like a wonderful idea. And it would help to clear up the abuse in the system. What do you think?

  • No i wouldn't sign it... because although i agree that people shouldn't be buying alcohol or cigerettes if they are on PA, but i don't think their KIDS should suffer because they are irresponsible and waste money on non-necessities... most people *I* know are on welfare or food stamps because they have kids and can't afford to keep them fed/diapered/etc... then again they aren't the ones abusing the system by spending any regular money they get on smoking/drinking... just saying it would be too hard to regulate and the kids would be the ones to suffer so i would not sign the petition.
