Getting Around in Cabo San Lucas?

We're headed to Cabo in a few weeks, we've never been to the Baja side of Mexico before. Our hotel is about 15 miles to the east of Cabo San Lucas, I'm wondering if we should rent a car, or just rely on taxis/hotel shuttle? We're staying at the Barcelo.

  • I just came back from Cabo San Lucas last month...I stayed at the Riu resort. Taxi vans are EVERYWHERE! They typically hangout at the hotels, and around downtown where all the restaurants and shops are. There wouldn't be any need to have a rental car during your stay. Also, i found that when your venturing out, ask other people waiting for vans at your hotel where they're going. Its a great way to meet friends and cut down on the costs if you can share a taxi van! Oh gotta go eat at Taco Loco!
