7 month old's urine smells really strong?

she nurses exclusively with some rice, oatmeal, and stage ones in there a little. why does her urine smells sooooooo strong and horrible?

  • Could be she's not getting enough liquids. Typically really dark, smelly urine can be a sign of dehydration.

  • well if its early morning pee its normal, my dd 8mnths has strong pee too..and sometimes she does during the day if she drinks alot of water...

  • It's sounds like he might be a little dehydrated, you could start giving him some water

  • keep that in your mind...kids can spill protein and sugars if they are getting an issue with their kidney's...at 5 years old is the normal time the pedi' team will screen for stuff like FSGS...but its an easy pee test if am pee is still strong...tell your pedi' to be safe~

  • Talk to your dr, it could be dehydration, it could be a number of things. Most importantly call the dr and ask them!!!

  • I have two kids that have VERY strong smelling urine. They have since they were about 6 months or so. My kids get plenty to drink - theirs just has a stronger smell then my own and my other two children. It doesn't hurt to mention it to your doctor, but it could just be the way hers is always going to be!

  • I wold make sure she drinks more water to get her system cleaned out. Per every tome she nurses, then make sure she has water after that as well.

  • My 7 month olds urine smells very stron.g also, when he was sick I was giving him pedilyte n still was smelling very
    Strong. So its not dehydration. But I'm going to make an appointment just to be on the safe side
