What would you do next time?

If you RSVPd everyone for a party you were throwing that would cost you about $300 and you text everyone at least once a week before the party to give them a reminder just in case and then call the day beforehand to make sure everyone is there so you can have the party set up at the restaurant and everything is taken care of.

If someone you called the day beforehand said they were defiantly going to go to the party and to expect them to be there and then about 30 minutes beforehand they say that their bird died and they had a paper due and they won't be able to come what would you do if you had a death in the family that morning of the party and someone else showed up and they almost had a death in the family. What would you do about it?

  • They didn't come because their bird died? That's an excuse and a stupid one at that.

  • What can you do about it? Nothing. Enjoy your party and send a condolence card for the bird.
We had 2 couples flake at our wedding. That was $75 a plate down the drain. We didn't even notice until after the wedding. Just enjoy the party and don't invite those people next time if it bothers you that much.

  • Just deal with it. That's life. If you have to pay for that person anyway, then you have to. You will go on, I wouldn't hold a grudge.
