Hitting a 6 year old boy with a belt.....

I had to listen to my roommate hit his 6 year old son with a belt because he cried when he was told he wasn't able to go outside and wait for his grandma to pick him up. But then contentiously hit him because he wouldn't stop crying. I could hear the belt hitting his skin from all they way downstairs and outside. So wht do you think..... Child Abuse or Discipline?

  • Abuse. Sorry but once or twice is enough. Constantly hitting is abuse.

  • Child abuse and you should tell them such. I would be calling DFCS right away myself.

  • Child Abuse. A belt should NEVER be used to spank a child, especially in the manner that you're describing.
I would call CPS and have them investigated.

  • Abuse! His reason for doing it is wrong! And you do not hit with a belt or any object! I grew up with getting whipped with a belt.

  • Abuse. Hitting a child with an object other than your hand on their butt to me is abuse.
