what gets hard water residue off the inside of a dishwasher?

what can i run thru the dishwasher to clean it? all my dishes come out with a white residue on them and i believe it is from the city water... the whole inside of the dishwasher is also coated in this white chalky stuff can i fix this?

  • You can buy it at your grocery store, you put it in an empty dishwasher and run a regular cycle. It's called Dishwasher magic. It works great, and then make sure you put jet dry in your washer if it has a place for it.

  • This is going to sound crazy - Tang. When I bought my dishwasher, the salesperson at Sears said it cleans/deodorizes plastic-drum dishwashers. I've used it, works great!
