Help need measurement for dry yeast

I'm going to try and make some yeast rolls (this is my first time) and the recipe calls for 2 packages of dry yeast and I have a 1 pound package of instant yeast so how much do I use and is instant yeast the same as what they are calling for and do I use it the same way?

  • You use it the same way - a packet is 2 1/4 tsp, so you need 4 1/2 tsp to equal two packets. Good luck - bet they'll taste great!

  • I haven't used anyhing but the packets, but what ever your making it should taste good. I make homemade cinnamon buns, not too often, too fattening.
