Is it okay to give a 5-6mo old baby cereal like weetabix, quiker oats etc?

  • You mean "Quaker Oats" ? That would be difficult to digest; Baby cereal such as Gerber rice cereal is good for babies.

  • No. If you feel your infant must have cereal at that age, stick with the baby formulated rice cereal.

  • Depends on your baby, My LO is 6.5mo and she still has a hard time eating puree type foods. My nutritionist says if they don't spit it out they are ready for those kinds of food. Her primary food source is milk. I do use some rice cereal and 'Gerber' oatmeal cereal but she can only manage about 2-3 tablespoons before she spits it all out when offered. You should talk to your LO's doctor if you are unsure
