Is it normal for him not to potty at school? He had no accidents today but he didn't use the bathroom at all.

  • Lots of kids do not like using school bathrooms. Ask him if there is any reason he doesn't want to. Talk to the teacher if you want to make sure she/he knows of any issues your son has.

  • My DD would not use any bathroom in a public place. She did not like how loud they were when they flushed. You know the commercial toilets can be loud and scare a LO.. I talked to the teacher and she agreed to flush for my DD when she was finished. She out grew it.. But now at 10 she refused to go to the bathroom if the place has a automatic flusher :) Talk to your child and then the teacher and see what you three can come up with to help.

  • He's going to get a kidney infection if he keeps holding it all day. He needs to go atleast once. Maybe see if he can get some quiet time on his own in the bathroom since its probably the other kids in there that is making him not want to go.

  • Oh never mind. I just saw it was prechool. So he's there.... 2-3 hours? That's not an unreasonable amount of time. Just be sure he goes right before he leaves and as soon as class is over.

  • Could just be an adjustment issue. If he isn't having accidents (and isn't drinking so little he's getting dehydrated), I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Talk to him about it and see if there's a problem he can explain (i.e. an auto-flushing toilet).
