what are good carbs??

I'm trying to loose stomach fat and I'm looking for good carbs cuz I hear good carbs help loose the belly fat.

I do cardio for 40 minutes a day and 20 minute resistance dvd every day

  • Brown rice, sweet potatoes-yams, whole grain breads/cereals, try to stick to whole foods not processed.

  • actually, i would really limit breads and cereals. i would say that good carbs are the carbohydrates that are processed the least (more in their natural form) raw veggies, brown rice and quinoa. if half of your food is raw veggies, you are probably doing great!
    foods in their natural form are better for you.

  • by good carbs think of whole grains, think fiber, bleached and processed =bad ..which means no white flour, no white bread, read cereals, some of them are not so bad, but read the label not the front of the box. whole grain bread that is steel cut, brown rice, sweet potatoes are great as a good carb and for satisfying a sweet craving, whole grain noodles instead of white. veggies with fiber. high fiber foods are for energy and for clearing out your system. do not eat carbs before bed though, or your body turns it into fat. the best thing to eat before bed is protein if your going to eat something...some greek yogurt or fat free cottage cheese are good examples of that.
