  • Gum to chew for the ears. Handheld game systems with extra batteries and games. Coloring Books, Puzzle Books, Books. Books on CD, CD Player with headphones. Travel Games, Deck of Cards....

  • I took a 16 month, 6 & 8 yr olds on a total of 14 hrs flying, plus 6 of layovers a few years ago. Instead of gum, which can get messy (gum in hair on seats,) I used dum dum lollipops. They still swallow and get a big treat.

    I bought some activity books and reading books they had never seen, and made each child a packet with paper, twistable colored pencils, coloring pages and lined paper. It kept them busy. Plus the older ones spent a great deal of time playing on the in flight monitors - either playing games, listening to music or watching movies.
